Couples planning to be married at St. Pius X should take an Archdiocese of Omaha marriage preparation pre-session brochure from the bulletin board near the main entrance of the church. If one is not available, please contact the Rectory Office. Every engaged couple planning marriage within a year in the Omaha Archdiocese must attend a pre-session. You should then contact one of the parish priests to set a wedding date.

Sponsor Couples are married couples who “journey with” engaged couples and help them prepare for the commitment of Christian marriage. Keep in mind that we are not looking for perfect couples. If you know from personal experience the good times and the hard times of marriage, you will be more credible when you share your experience with engaged couples who often worry that they will not succeed in marriage. Marriage: A Journey for Life is a program sponsored by the Archdiocese of Omaha, whereby couples are provided the opportunity for prayerful reflection and discussion of topics important to living the vocation of marriage within the context of the Catholic faith. St. Pius X hosts 2 to 3 marriage prep sessions a year.
- help set-up for the event
- welcome and check-in the engaged couples
- serve boxed meals
Each retreat is on a Friday evening and a Saturday morning and afternoon. Different volunteer shifts are available throughout the weekend to accommodate your schedule. Volunteers do not need to be married themselves.
